I played it in ranger mode with barely any HUD. There are some technical things, which aren't done well. But there were some things which annoyed me the more I played. Overall, I really loved this game and would give it a 9/10. In the end, I turned on the subtitles for those levels, but my eyes ended up hurting trying to read them. Also, in some action levels, I would eavesdrop on people, only for them to be drowned out by loud gunfire. So, you had people talking over each other all the time. I wanted to hear every conversation I could, but sometimes the triggers overlapped. The audio mixing was bad in certain levels. So, I was sometimes wandering in circles for a good ten minutes before finding the hallway I needed to go down, or corner I needed to turn. You have to climb up a tower, which you can easily fall off if you don’t watch were you’re stepping, and then you have to play through a weird dream sequence where you can easily fall through the floor if you don’t watch were you’re stepping. The final level is really, really, bad.I did play with a guide, so I could plan out my route to at least try and get the good ending, but I just gave up in some levels because it was so arbitrary. It was weird and impacted some levels for me. Others make way less sense…like smoking a random hookah in the middle of a bandit base. Some of these sorta makes sense, like knocking enemies out instead of killing them. The ending you get is arbitrarily decided by collecting morality points, which you get for doing “good” deeds. The morality system: Metro has two endings: a good ending, and a bad ending.I swapped out all my silenced weapons for a flamethrower, a better smg, and what was essentially a turret shotgun At the end, you can swap out all your guns for more meatier ones. I played most of the game stealthily, with a pistol, shotgun, and SMG, all equipped with silencers. Gunplay: the game has a wide range of guns, and you can customise them a lot.He helps you get used to the more supernatural aspects of the Metro. But the characters are great, well written, with quirks, and flaws. It’s a long, winding, crazy journey, above and below ground. Weird mutants attack your home station, so you set out to get help from the biggest station. The story and characters: The story is relatively simple.Only later did I learn you can burn them with your flashlight. I spent all of my shotgun ammo killing these annoying assholes. I am SCARED shit of spiders and things with wiggly legs. When I got to the second level, and faced the more aggressive black ones, they suddenly started wailing on me, even when I stared them down as before and my least favourite were The weird spider-scorpion things in the caves level. My favourite were The hulking librarians that you stare down in the library, at least in the first level. If you have a phobia, this game will likely cater to it.
